Mattie's new face and some more laughs

So, over the last couple of weeks, Mattie has started making this new face. It is hysterical. She started one night at dinner. Our neighbor Courtney finally caught it on camera. Please ignore the audio...apparently, I was totally not paying attention to my child.I'm not surprised she made the face on command for Courtney, Mattie has always loved her and has smiled at her since she was a newborn. We just crack up at this new face:

You never know what will make this child laugh. The paper tearing trick only lasted one night, and we have tried tons of other things (which have worked) ut never long enough for us to get out the camera. We were trying to capture video of her crawling and starting to walk....of course, she was not interested. However, she loved it when I did a little head banging and hair swinging.

Happy Easter!!!

We celebrated Easter in Kerrville with Jeff's Parents (Nana and Granddaddy). Mattie had a blast!

She had her first bath in the tub and I jumped in with her...yes, that is a TRIDELT shirt.

Easter Morning:
She loved her Easter Basket. I was a little anxious to put this together. In fact, it had been purchased and assembled since Valentine's Day!

Mattie loves books.....to chew on. Hopefully, she will be a better reader than her mother or father. We are trying to start early!

She was not sure about these ears, but we tried. Nana also purchased these way in advance of Easter!

On your Mark, Get Set......
GO! This child doesn't sit still for a picture.

Then, we moved on to another basket from Nana!!!!

And we even had some Easter morning bonding with Miss Sugar. Sugar was much more interested in Mattie than Macy was originally. And Sugar was wonderful with Madeline.

And for the family pics:

Madeline and Charlie (One of our friend's adorable little boy) -
neither would cooperate and look at the camera!

Not an easy picture to take!

We really had a wonderful Easter holiday and are so thankful for our family, friends, Miss Mattie Ann, and most of all God's love and amazing GRACE!

Play Dates

So, I'm way behind in posting and discussing Mattie's boyfriend Joshua. Joshua was born two days before Madeline and is such a cutie. I've decided we should "pre-arrange" their marriage, because we love Josh's parents who live two doors over from us. Mattie is "all about" the arrangement, however Josh is playing it safe, with good reason (details below).

Although we must credit my dad with putting the finishing touch on Mattie’s crawling enabling her to really start moving, Josh gets credit for encouraging her speed. Josh is an experienced crawler, and boy is he fast. At their last play date, Mattie showed she is not too young to chase the boys. She took off after speedy Josh!!

Josh is absolutely a sweet, calm, and precious child. He smiles all the time and has an adorable shy grin.  Did I mention he is calm…seriously; he will just sit and let anyone hold him and snuggles. I didn’t know babies did that. Now, except for precious, we would not use any of those words to describe Miss Mattie. She is super smiley, but she is incredibly hyper and rambunctious, never still, and not even close to shy at all.  Examples are below:

There is Josh’s adorable shy grin….as he just sits still ready for a ride. Notice Mattie is trying to escape her seatbelt already.

Too Adorable!  Sweet, calm, and happy to sit still…..

And then there is our child:

But, we sure think she is cute:

Now, Josh may have to step it up and start being a little more active in the relationship, or his big brother Carson, just may step in...

He shares Mattie’s more “aggressive and active” nature.

And we can’t forget Mattie’s other potential suitor (if she is so lucky): Hudson!!! Hudson is much younger than Mattie, but he makes up for it in size and cuteness. Hudson is almost half Mattie’s age and look at his size! He is going to be a hunk. Hudson's mom and dad are also super great and live in the neighborhood! Once again Mattie’s was all about getting some attention from Mr. Hudson, who was such a calm cutie (these pics are a bit old so both have grown a lot since then)!
