Seven Months

Oops....so, Mattie is now almost Nine Months, but I neglected to write a formal seven month and eight month update. I did manage to scribble a few notes on post-its during the hectic month of March and am working on an April update. Here are just a few old tidbits from Mattie’s Seventh Month of Life. I’ll post an actual 8 Month Update shortly.
-Still saying dadadada all the time and Dad (with some serious emphasis on the Ds). She also says tatatata, nananan, bababa, and lalala. But really loves saying Dad.
-Sits on her own! Almost able to put herself in the sitting position from her tummy or back.
-Rolls around and gets off her play mat or blanket, but she is not yet crawling. She seems very capable of moving where she wants to go…but more of in roll - shimmy – roll style. No interest in the army crawl.
- Still hyper as ever! Only sits still when watching cartoons with dad in the morning and for no more than 15 minutes. She does not enjoy sitting in laps or cuddling. She just wants to stand and jump and pulls herself up to a standing position with a little help.
-Loves playing on her mat and jumping in the jumperoo. Always happy outside and likes her new swing. Loves tags and has to put them in her mouth. Has mastered taking the rings off the stacking toys. Gives a high five with a smile. LOVES the Itsy Bitsy Spider and will hold your hands and make them clap. She is a master of peek-a-boo and a fan of pat-a-cake.
-Down to four feedings a day: she eats cereal in the morning with fruit (usually with dada), and then a 6 oz bottle, nurses 2 times during the day and then has cereal, a fruit and a veggie around 6:30, her bath, and then a 6 oz bottle. (She has made it through almost all the Stage 1 foods.) She is usually in her crib falling asleep by 8ish and wakes up around 7ish.
-Hair is still a total disaster and a bow is now needed to keep it out of her eyes. It sticks up in all directions and is curly when wet.
-Wears 3-6 month in gap still and 6-9 or 6-12 in old navy and target cloths. Her feet are crazy huge. Started sleeping in real pajamas and a sleep sack and is still in size 2 diapers.
The biggest news is that her reflux is SO much better. The child now only spits-up 1-2 times between each feeding. And it is now much more like baby spit-up then the full on puke fest of the past! We are holding our breath this is a permanent change........
We love this little one so much and are so excited to watch her grow and see her personality thrive.
